Aniko on the Go

Creativity's Turning Gears

The creativity gears are turning, and I must tend them or be ground to something less than myself and more than icky. To do so, I need to take a break from the internet. I will not be blogging, tweeting, or Facebooking. What will I be doing? Writing. I intend to finish my novel by the end of 2012. Please wish me luck! And keep the lights on, ya’ll: I’m with you in spirit, even if I’m not commenting.

I will miss you!

xoxo,

  1. Good luck! I’m still sending you novel finishing powers!
Inspired by this, I am going to try and do a one-hour-no-internet-just-writing time each day for awhile. I think I get too distracted with all of the sites that I can use while writing. Sometimes I tell myself that they are helping to inspire me..but generally..it would be good to have a time in the day when I don’t use the internet while I write..thank you for that inspiration!

  2. Good luck Aniko. I think you’ll find a period of internet abstinence pretty fruitful – that was certainly my experience. The internet is a wonderful thing, but it can also be a terrible distraction, and sometimes it’s necessary to just take a step back and write.

I was also planning to finish my WIP by the end of the year, but frankly that’s beginning to look unlikely! Here’s hoping you have more success. 🙂
